Management Documents

The management of “.ma” domain names has been delegated to the National Agency for Regulation of Telecommunications (l'Agence Nationale de Régulation des Télécommunication – ANRT www.anrt.ma ) by ICANN in June 2006. ANRT actualy provide technical administration through the website www.registre.ma. Individuals or institutions wishing to acquire a “ .ma” domain name must go through companies accredited by the ANRT. MTDS naturally benefits from this accreditation. ANRT has established a .ma naming charter which lists the rules for the administration of domain names in Morocco. “ .ma” Domain names can be registered by anyone, subject to compliance with rules issued by the charter. The administrative contact related to the domain name in question should also be established in Morocco. The website and domain name must be in accordance with the rules regarding territorial integrity and customs of the country. A non-exhaustive and constantly revised list of reserved terms is submitted for a preliminary validation from ANRT. To register one of the domain names from the lists a registration form of reserved terms must be completed and transmitted to us for an ANRT validation. The registration of a domain name takes less than 15 minutes. For domains that need  an authorization the registration can then take longer depending on any further ANRT demands.

The .ma domain registry, for the moment, does not have the technical facilities for automated management of the domains. The procedures for changing registrar (transfer of domains from one registrar to another), the changing of the owner or registration of reserved terms (including “.gov.ma”, “ac.ma”, “press.ma”), must be done by sending the forms signed by the holder or purchaser of the domain name and the registrar that registered the domain.
The standard procedure are as follows:

To change the registrar (transfer a domain), the domain holder must:
1. Fill in the appropriate form and sign it.
2. Send the form to the previous provider who must also sign it
3. Send the form to the new provider who must sign and notify the technical manager (registry) MTDS has implemented an automated interface on this page to facilitate the fill of the transfer form.

To change the domain holder, the owner should:
1. Fill out the appropriate form
2. Send the form back to his registrar who will notify the technical manager (registry)

To register a domain from the list of reserved terms, the claimant of the domain must:
1. Ensure that the domain is available
2. Fill out the appropriate form
3. Send the form back to his registrar who will notify ANRT.

To register a domain ending in "gov.ma", the claimant of the domain must:
1. Ensure that the domain is available
2. Fill out the appropriate form
3. Send the form back to his registrar who will notify ANRT.

The domain name is automatically registered and immediately activated if it does not require prior validation of ANRT.
If the domain name requires prior approval of ANRT, it is registered and remains pending the activation, until the conditions of registration are met, for 5 working days (validation period). If these conditions are not united after this period, your application for registration will be deleted and the domain name will become available again for registration.
